Customizing the Background Check Experience

Conducting a background check isn’t an easy, one-size-fits-all process. Research management is often time consuming and a hassle to manage considering all of the variables involved.

It’s what deverus has set out to alleviate with our business operation platform. Our customizable tool optimizes the background check process for our clients, consumer reporting agencies (CRA).

There will always be a human element to background checks, which is why we set out to make our solution as intuitive as possible. Leveraging our longevity in the industry and insight from clients, we’ve built and continue to refine our software.

1. Researcher Network

One of our primary focuses when building our platform was to make it easier for our clients to keep reasonable margins. We understand that, as research sources add up, profit goes down.

Our clients can create a unique researcher network made up of different companies they have relationships with as well as individual contractors located in specific geographic regions.

The customized researcher network becomes a library of data optimized specifically to each client’s business. Researchers are organized and easily accessible, allowing clients to efficiently employ resources needed for each project.

2. Usability

We base our software in large part on the feedback we receive from our clients. We could build a tool we believe is amazing, but if it doesn’t solve a problem for our clients, it’s useless.

It’s why our Usability team takes time to get to know each and every client and their business before working with us in development. We can’t implement every request from every client, but the input we receive is invaluable to creating a software platform that works within the industry.

Our User Success team plays a role in that as well. When they receive a request from a client, their initial step is to determine the “why” behind the “what.”

Instead of looking at the ticket at face value, they dig deeper to uncover the real problem, which helps us a great deal in refining our platform.

We act as the experts in these situations to ensure we aren’t throwing spackle over a gaping hole. We work to fix it properly, which benefits every client.

3. Customization

After nearly two decades in the background check industry, we’ve learned that every CRA has it’s own unique way of conducting business.

Variables include how they segment departments, use researchers across geographic regions, distribute work internally and externally, and organize workflow.

Our system allows configuration across a number of points so clients can customize the system as they see fit. It’s one of the primary benefits of our solution. We understand that one way doesn’t work for everyone.

It’s gratifying for us as a company to provide real solutions to real problems for our clients. Background checks can be tedious, but our service allows clients to operate as efficiently as possible and deliver in a timely manner.
