New Officers, Board Of Directors Announced For The National Association Of Professional Background Screeners
The National Association of Professional Background Screeners held its Annual Conference April 18-21, in St. Louis, Mo. During the annual membership meeting, Dan Shoemaker, Director Central Business Unit, USIS, was elected as chairman. Laura Randazzo, COO, HRPlus was elected to the position of chairman-elect. Theresa Preg, AVP Market Development, LexisNexis Co., was elected to the position of treasurer and Fred Giles, National Diagnostics Inc., was elected as secretary. Larry Lambeth, President, Employment Screening Services Inc., will serve as immediate past chairman.

Do You Have The Lowdown On Your Employees?
According to Ideco Group Limited, a shareholder of South Africa's largest background screening company, Kroll, at least 18% of all credentials tendered by job applicants at present are questionable or outright bogus, including degrees, diplomas, IDs, driver's licences and passports. Even more alarming is the fact that more than 20% of all job applicants have criminal records ranging from murder, rape and armed robbery to petty crime and white collar fraud.
